The recent perks for more babies are attractive but still not enough for me. From past experiences, I start work 1 month after my 2 deliveres because as a senior executive, my responsibility was beyond the 9-5 schedule. Projects take on a life of its own somehow and technology makes it so convenient.

The 4 months will help substantially for mothers (especially new ones) to cope with the new responsibililties and definitely bonding between mum and child. However, the real challenge s thereafter - spirit, time, energy and money to nurture the child. That, no amount of incentive will help unless it is a personal conviction...

I agree ... its more than just the 4 months maternity leave ... some of my friends have also wondered if women will be deemed as less attractive employees in view of all this ....
I think companies have a long way to go before being truly pro-family. Just this morning, I was reading this article where the writer laments about the difficulty of finding a place to express milk. This was my challenge as well long ago, and it seems after 8 years, not much have changed.
