There are so many rules on grammar, teacher always remind us when we came across verb such as 'saw', the next verb must remain the same (no change of tenses).Can someone explain about these and are there any other verbs that we have to look out for. Thank you.

Hi, there are many sites out there (on the WWW) that explain the rules. I can point you to relevant ones but right now, do you have a specific query requiring an explanation? From a specific difficulty that you have faced, we can try to understand the basis for the possible answers.
